Environmental Devices

Environmental devices installed in your home can give you peace of mind when you are away from your home at work or on vacation. This type of sensor is monitored 24 hours a day, 365 days a year whether the system is armed or not. Environmental sensors can protect what matters most in your home such pets, pictures and special things that cannot be replaced.

Some of our competitors surcharge their customers per component on a monthly basis. With SecurTek, there are no additional charges for monitoring environmental devices connected to your alarm system.

We carry a wide selection of environmental devices to protect your family and home from a disaster that may totally disrupt your lifestyle and in some cases your life. These devices include:

  • Smoke Sensors
  • Carbon Monoxide Sensors
  • Low Temp or Freeze Sensors
  • Water Sensors
  • Hot Tub Sensors

Fire Protection:

Most homes are equipped with smoke detectors, either battery operated or wired into the electrical system as required in recent years by construction code compliance. However, this type of stand-alone protection is effective only while you are at home and able to get to the phone to call for help. The smoke detectors that we supply are monitored by SecurTek. When they go into alarm status the system calls the monitoring station where appropriate steps are taken to insure your home and family are safe.

Flood Protection:

The number one insurance claim is due to water damage. Water damage claims amount to 70% of all insurance claims in Canada with the average totaling $30,000.00. This type of damage may require a great deal of time for repair and can cause major disruption in your home. In some cases a temporary relocation to a hotel may be required.

By installing water protection devices you are able to know about the problem right when it happens so you can take immediate corrective action to minimize the damage.

Temperature Detection:

There is nothing worse than pipes freezing in the winter which could happen if your heating system fails. By having a monitored temperature sensor in your home the monitoring station will contact you if there is an alarm from this device. In the event you cannot be reached, SecurTek will contact the next designated key holder on your call list.
